About

Nutrition science, written for women.

The Nutrition Desk is a calm corner of the internet where women's nutrition questions get real, research-backed answers — without the hype, the shame, or the sales pitch.

Women's health has been under-studied for a long time, and the internet fills that gap with noise: miracle cures, scary headlines, and influencers selling the supplement of the week. We wanted something different — a place that reads the actual studies, explains them like a smart friend would, and trusts you to make your own choices.

How we work

  • We start with the research. Every article is built on real, peer-reviewed studies — mostly from PubMed — and we link to our sources so you can see them for yourself.
  • We write in plain English. No jargon walls. If we use a science word, we explain it. You shouldn't need a degree to understand your own body.
  • We stay honest. When the evidence is strong, we say so. When it's early or mixed, we say that too. We'd rather tell you "we're not sure yet" than oversell.
  • We keep recommendations honest. When we review a product or name a brand, it starts with the evidence, not a sponsorship. If a link ever earns us a commission, we will always tell you.

What we cover

Right now we're focused on the areas women ask about most: gut health (your microbiome, probiotics, and the food-first habits that help), hormones (PCOS, perimenopause, menopause, and the everyday science of feeling like yourself), and supplements (like creatine and fiber — what the research really says).

A gentle but important note

The Nutrition Desk offers general nutrition education, not medical advice. It is not a substitute for care from your doctor or a registered dietitian. Talk with a professional before changing your diet, starting a supplement, or making health decisions — especially if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or managing a health condition.
