How this site makes money.

Short version: some of our links earn us a commission. Here is the longer one.

Affiliate links

The Nutrition Desk is a nutrition news and education site. We publish articles, research explainers, and product write-ups, and we do not charge readers anything to read them.

Some of the outbound links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we earn a commission from the seller. This includes the Amazon Associates program and direct programs with individual brands. It never costs you anything extra, and the price you pay is the same as it would be if you had gone to the seller directly.

That commission is how the site pays for itself, which means you should know about it whenever you read a recommendation here. We say so on the pages where those links appear, not only on this one.

How we handle products

We have commercial relationships with some of the brands that appear on this site. Where a page recommends a specific product, assume there is a financial interest behind the link unless the page says otherwise, and weigh it accordingly.

What we hold ourselves to regardless: every health claim traces to a cited study you can open and read for yourself, and when a study is small, early, or funded by an interested party, we say so in the article rather than hiding it in a footnote. The research on this site is meant to stand up on its own, whether or not you ever click a link.

Sponsorship

We do not sell coverage. Nobody can pay us to be written about, to be reviewed favorably, or to be placed in a ranking. If that ever changes, this page changes first.

A gentle but important note

The Nutrition Desk offers general nutrition education, not medical advice. It is not a substitute for care from your doctor or a registered dietitian. Talk with a professional before changing your diet, starting a supplement, or making health decisions — especially if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or managing a health condition.
